This version of Oedipus Rex is done in the ancient Greek style. Actors wore masks so that people with the "cheap seats" could see their expressions. Also, the masks helped to project the actors' voices. All the actors were men, including female characters. Settings were sparse and limited to pieces that remained stationary. There are other versions of the play on line, including summaries. Be aware: not all of the summaries are good, and not all of the other movies are true to the play. However, it doesn't hurt to check them out.
